Welcome to Goldsworth Medical practice

stethoscope4We are a busy practice working from two purpose built sites with 10 doctors and a list size of 13000 patients. Our aim is to give high quality evidence-based NHS primary health care to all our patients. We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

Changing your personal details

Please let us know your new address and a contact number as well as your home number as soon as possible as we may need to contact you urgently on occasion.

Practice History

The practice was started by Dr Smellie before World War II and moved to 16 York Road in the 1940s. He was joined by Dr Symonds and later Dr Gillies, followed by Dr Carmichael and Dr Lytton. In 1979 the practice opened the first doctor's surgery in Goldsworth Park and Dr Lander and Dr Collins joined the other doctors. In 1986 the practice moved into the new Goldsworth Park Health Centre and was joined by Dr Braiden. Four years later, in January 1991, Dr Carmichael retired and was replaced by Dr Sellars. In 1990 we moved from our premises in York Road to a new building, adjacent to Woking Community Hospital in Heathside Road. The building was named York House Medical Centre in recognition of our historical links with York Road.

As a result of our growing list size Dr Grove joined us in August 1998. Dr Lytton retired in June 2002 and was replaced by Dr Gaur. Dr Braiden and Dr Grove moved onto pastures new and were replaced by Dr Clayton in 2002 and Dr Perera in 2005. Dr Singh joined the practice as a partner in January 2008 and in 2012 Dr Khatoon has joined as a partner. We have also had the services of two salaried doctors, Dr Honnor and Dr Reade.
